SPATEX 2025: A Deep Dive into the latest hot tub and water therapy innovations
Stress relief, reducing inflammation and supporting people with diabetes will be highlighted as major benefits of hot and cold-water therapy at a major national event in Coventry.
SPATEX 2025 is the UK’s only dedicated pool and spa show, and the major national event is in its 29th year.
It will be the 11th year that the water leisure exhibition has been held at Coventry Building Society Arena when it takes place from Tuesday, February 4 to Thursday, February 6. The latest and most innovative hot tubs, saunas, enclosures, swimming pools, wellness facilities and steam rooms will all be showcased.
More than 100 exhibitors, including major suppliers and manufacturers from around the world, will be attending the event – with leading businesses set to unveil new products.
The show is set to feature a range of exhibitors, and expert speakers will discuss the benefits of hot and cold-water therapy, including Dr Ant Shepherd from University of Portsmouth.
He will be discussing his research which provides insights into how hot tub use for people with diabetes can help improve metabolic and cardiovascular health – and is calling for more evidence-based research to possibly provide treatment within the NHS.
Superior Wellness will be highlighting the benefits of cold-water therapy. Nic Walker, Research and Development Engineer at Superior Wellness., said: “Cold water exposure triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural ‘feel-good’ hormones.
“In terms of your body’s physical response, cold water constricts blood vessels, which improves circulation and reduces inflammation.
“This enhanced blood flow can make you feel more energised and less sluggish, helping to counter the physical effects of stress. You may also find that your sleep quality improves, which will help calm the nervous system - reducing stress and anxiety.”
The free event is set to attract professionals involved in the construction, provision, management and delivery of public and private water leisure services.
SPATEX 2025 will feature a double seminar programme with more than 30 speakers for visitors and exhibitors to gain expert insights from across the industry.
Michele Bridle, event organiser at SPATEX, added: “This is set to be our biggest show yet and we have expanded the event in response to demand from the industry.
“We’ve added more space and for the first time since moving to Coventry eleven years ago we’ll be filling the floorspace of its large exhibition hall.
“The last few years have seen a focus on sustainable and energy efficient products and we are expecting that to continue. With the increased profile and popularity of cold water and hot water therapies, we are set to discuss those benefits in detail at the event.
“We’re looking forward to a great 11th year at Coventry Building Society Arena; highlighting more innovations from across the water leisure sector than ever before.”
Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “We have been proud to host SPATEX for the last decade. It’s an event that demonstrates our flexibility as a venue.
“The show has continued to expand and will this year be taking up space in the atrium as well as the exhibition halls. It is fantastic to see the event continue to go from strength to strength and grow here at Coventry Building Society Arena.” SPATEX 2025 is free to attend for visitors.
