A night of country rock classics as The Eagles tribute act swoop in for Coventry show

Songs made famous by legendary country rock band The Eagles will be dusted down for one big old sing-along in Coventry.

The Illegal Eagles will fly by the Auditorium at Coventry Building Society Arena for what promises to be an epic celebration of the Californian group’s greatest hits.

Fans can expect the likes of Hotel California, Desperado, Take It Easy, Life In The Fast Lane and many more from the critically-acclaimed tribute act, who have earned rave reviews over the years for their musical prowess, attention to detail and incredible showmanship.

Formed in 1998, the latest all-star line-up of the show - produced as ever by Phil Aldridge – features drummer Tony Kiley, formerly of 80’s sensations The Blow Monkeys, and ex-Dr Hook vocalist and bassist Trevor Newnham; with Greg Webb, Mike Baker and Garreth Hicklin on vocals and guitars.

Garreth, Greg, Trevor, and Mike effortlessly capture the vocal style and delivery of Eagles band members Henley, Walsh, Frey, Schmidt and Meisner, and are renowned for being masters of their respective instruments.

The powerhouse rhythm section of Kiley and Newnham adds a dimension sensitive to the subtle needs of the Eagles’ songs yet kicks hard where necessary over the course of their memorable, two-hour show.

The Eagles were formed in Los Angeles in 1971 by Glenn Frey and Don Henley. Five number one singles, six number one albums, six Grammy awards and five American Music Awards marked the group out as one of the most successful musical acts in the 1970s.

They have gone on to become one of the world’s best-selling bands, having sold more than 200 million records, including 100 million albums in the US alone.

Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “The Eagles are without doubt one of the world’s greatest rock bands. So many of their songs have stood the test of time.

“We’re delighted to be welcoming a group that not only acknowledges The Eagles’ phenomenal contribution to music, but also does justice to a body of work that has to be considered among the very best.”

Tickets are on sale at 10am on Friday, November 22 from https://www.eticketing.co.uk/cbsarena/EDP/Event/Index/150?position=1
